Join Islamic Relief’s STRIDE team at the 2024 Humanitarian Networks Partnership Week (HNPW) in Geneva, running from 29 April to 10 May. Along with partners, we will present voices from different experts, practitioners, and local non-government organisations (NGOs) and showcase evidence-based research advocating more locally-led humanitarian action.
The Strengthening Response Capacity and Institutional Development for Excellence (STRIDE) project supports and works with local partners to protect the lives and dignity of at-risk communities.
The HNPW is an annual event organised by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) that brings together various stakeholders to discuss and address challenges in humanitarian affairs.
This year, Islamic Relief is leading a hybrid session with the Humanitarian Policy Group ODI, START Network, Humanitarian Advisory Group, Glow Consultants, Smauel Hall, CAFOD and a STRIDE-supported Nigerian local NGO, Intercommunity Development Social Organisation (IDS).
6 May 2024, 09:00 – 10:30 (UTC+2): Embracing the Nexus of Climate, Localisation, and Faith: A Call to Collective Action.

The discussion will be based on 2 key studies commissioned by Islamic Relief:
- Bridging Localisation and Climate Adaptation Pathways: This study examines how localisation and locally led climate adaptation can work together to serve vulnerable communities better.
- Faith Actor’s Value Addition in Localisation: This study explores the role of faith-based actors in global localisation efforts, particularly in developing and conflict-prone regions.
