The people of Gaza have endured a year of intense suffering and relentless attacks. The escalation of violence since October 2023 has killed more than 42,065 people, including 16,891 children and 11,458 women. Another 97,886 have been injured, and 90% of the Gaza Strip’s 2.3 million people have been displaced. The Israeli blockade has left many without access to food, water, shelter and medicine.
In Gaza, Islamic Relief’s staff and partners are facing the same challenges as the communities we serve but continue to deliver desperately needed aid.
Your donations have allowed us to provide Palestinians with ready-to-eat meals, clean water, vegetable packs, clothing, hygiene items, as well as psychosocial support and fun activities for children.

A young boy receives a check-up in a medical tent in April 2024. We have provided healthcare services to over 10,625 people since October 2023. We are also providing nutritional supplements to 35,000 pregnant women and young children twice every month.

In August 2024, we provided qurbani to 24,000 families including orphans in the Middle Area. For many families, this is the only time they eat meat in the entire year.

Fun activities give children in Gaza a moment of distraction in August 2024. More than 97,778 children have enjoyed games, performances and similar activities to support their mental health at a very challenging time.

Maftoul, a couscous dish, is prepared for Islamic Relief to distribute to people in need in April 2024. More than 8.9 million hot meals, including lentil soup, rice and chicken, beans and eggplant have helped families ease their hunger.

Islamic Relief installs mobile toilets in Deir Al-Balah in April 2024. Islamic Relief has delivered water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) items to over 70,000 people during the crisis.

Children aged 8-12 enjoy a learning session in September 2024. 85% of Gaza’s school buildings have been damaged by Israeli airstrikes, according to the Global Education Cluster. Islamic Relief has launched an educational support project for children in Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip in partnership with local Non-governmental organisations (NGOs). This includes lessons in maths and English, as well as psychological support.

Islamic Relief has delivered clean water to some 452,788 individuals in Gaza, including residents at this distribution in North Gaza in September 2024. Gaza is enduring a water crisis, with families forced to walk for miles to collect water and carefully ration its use.
