Islamic Relief is supporting families in Maguindanao province of the Philippines, who have fled their homes amid violence in the municipalities of Shariff Aguak, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Mamasapano and Datu Salibo. Almost 14, 000 people have been displaced so far, although this figure is expected to rise.
Affected families are in urgent need of food and shelter, as well as water, sanitation and hygiene facilities.
Islamic Relief already has a presence in the area, as we are currently implementing peacebuilding projects and are helping to create sustainable livelihoods for families.
We are now working alongside other humanitarian organisations to support families affected by the recent conflict. We will be providing essential food and hygiene items to over 8,000 affected families.
We are also establishing ways in which to effectively support vulnerable families over the next few months.
Islamic Relief has been helping vulnerable people in the Philippines since 2013, and with your help, we can continue our lifesaving work in the country and beyond. Please donate to our Global Emergencies Fund.
