Islamic Relief is supporting families in the Commune of Bambara Maoude and Haribomo, Mali, who have fled their homes amid recent spikes in conflict in the north of the country. Around 6,840 people have already fled to the communes. 870 families have moved to Bambara Maoude and 270 families to Harobomo. However, this figure is expected to rise.
They urgently need food and shelter, as well as water, sanitation and hygiene facilities. With support from the START fund, Islamic Relief is providing 1,140 families with over two weeks’ worth of food support via cash programming, as well as emergency temporary shelter. We are also coordinating our response with other humanitarian organisations operating in the area.
Islamic Relief has been helping vulnerable people in Mali since 1997, and with your help we can continue our lifesaving work in the country and beyond. Please donate to our Global Emergencies Fund.
