Islamic Relief’s chief executive Waseem Ahmad sends thanks and festive greetings to our incredible global family this Eid al-Fitr.
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Assalamu alaykum, my dear brothers and sisters.
Despite the difficulties of the cost-of-living crisis, Islamic Relief supporters have continued to remember crisis-stricken families in your duas and deeds during the holy month. For this I am deeply grateful that your zakat has been our amanah.
During Ramadan, ordinary families in Yemen stared into the abyss of famine as the country entered its ninth year of conflict. A staggering 17.4 million people are going hungry every day. Islamic Relief feeds 2.1 million Yemenis every month all year round. And with your support we have given Ramadan food parcels to the most vulnerable families as well.
Your zakat has been our amanah.
Your kindness has also reached crisis-stricken Syria where millions have fled their homes. Your charity has been a lifeline in Afghanistan, where more than half of the population need humanitarian aid, and in the Horn of Africa, where drought is devastating the land.
Your solidarity has inspired hope for communities struggling to recover from disaster in Pakistan, Syria and Türkiye.
Thanks to your generosity Islamic Relief’s Ramadan food parcels are thought to have reached over 1 million people. In more than 30 countries, families received nutritious staples such as bread, rice, beans and delicious dates.
As you gather with your friends and family to celebrate Eid al-Fitr please know that your kindness has been a comfort and blessing to those for whom hunger is an everyday reality.
Your zakat truly is our amanah.
Jazakallah khairan, thank you, for being part of the global Islamic Relief family.
Eid Mubarak. Wasalaamu alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
