Islamic Relief wishes all of our supporters Eid Mubarak.
At Eid al-Adha, the feast of sacrifice, we reflect on the example Prophet Ibrahim (alayhi as-salaam), who was ready to make a huge sacrifice in obedience to Allah (SWT).
For many of us the past 2 years have been a time of tests and hardship. Global hunger is rising, conflicts are devastating communities, and families everywhere are struggling with the soaring cost of living.
Despite this Islamic Relief’s incredible supporters have continued to give generously, easing the suffering of some of the poorest families in the world.
“The spirit of sacrifice and love for our ummah – these are the traits we need to keep alive within ourselves,” says Nurhayati Hassan, Vice Chair of Islamic Relief Worldwide Board of Trustees.
“By giving qurbani we honour and remember that sacrifice. We reach out to people less fortunate than ourselves. With our sacrifice we lighten their burden, insha’Allah.”
Thanks to your support, Islamic Relief have been able to distribute qurbani meat in 30 countries. With our dedicated staff and volunteers working around the clock, we reached around 3.1 million people, many of whom only ever taste meat at Eid.
From the Islamic Relief family to yours, we wish you a safe and happy Eid!
