As 2023 draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on a year marked by significant humanitarian efforts and challenges.
The ongoing suffering of the people of Gaza is at the forefront of all our minds, and our collective hearts are suffering, and in many ways our day-to-day difficulties are miniscule in comparison. We continue to provide aid in Gaza and have staff on the ground. We urge you to pray for Gaza, to speak up, and do what you can.
Amidst a backdrop of natural disasters and ongoing crises throughout the year, Islamic Relief has been a beacon of hope, providing crucial aid to millions of people in need.
We have been at the forefront of responding to global emergencies and bringing aid to almost 11 million people across 31 countries*.
We provided lifesaving aid and assistance after to over 1 million people affected by earthquakes in Turkiye, northern Syria, Afghanistan, Nepal, and Morocco.
We have been supporting sustainable development; a total of 603 significant projects were implemented throughout the year, showcasing our commitment to addressing immediate and ongoing needs of those in crises.
Our approach is grounded in compassion and efficiency, ensuring that aid reached the most vulnerable and that the assistance provided was tailored to the specific needs of each situation.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors over 8,915 new orphans were sponsored in 25 different countries, almost 1 million people were fed with Ramadan food packs, and more than 3.4 million people received nutritious meals from your qurbani donations.
We were able to provide water, sanitation, and hygiene to almost 1.3 million people and helped over 2.25 million others with specialist support for their livelihoods worldwide.
In every packed food parcel, every rebuilt home, and every comforting word, Islamic Relief didn’t just deliver aid; it delivered pieces of hope, stitched together with unwavering empathy and resilience.
None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our donors. We would like to thank you all, throughout this challenging year you have changed lives all over the world.
