Islamic Relief is throwing its weight behind a global campaign to highlight the deteriorating humanitarian situation arising from the conflict in Syria.
Syria is entering its fifth year of fighting. The brutal conflict has so far cost more than 191,000 people their lives, and has displaced millions of individuals. It is thought that 12.2 million people inside the war-torn country require humanitarian aid, and about 3.8 million refugees are also in need of assistance.
Islamic Relief, which has been responding to the crisis since its onset in 2011, is calling for renewed support for our life-saving humanitarian programmes in the Syria: It’s Not Too Late campaign. As part of our work to end the suffering, we are also backing the latest United Nations initiative to demonstrate a widespread show of solidarity with the people of Syria.
