Islamic Relief have launched an appeal to help support vulnerable families amid catastrophic flash flooding in Pakistan. 419 people have lost their lives as a result, including 77 children, while approximately 500 people have been injured.
Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab are the hardest-hit regions and have seen widespread destruction caused by the flooding. Over 34,000 homes have been destroyed, and across all regions, thousands of vulnerable people face being uprooted from their homes.
Reports from authorities have confirmed that 977km of road infrastructure and 61 bridges have been destroyed, which poses an even more severe threat to the lives of thousands of people.
Many farmers have lost their livelihoods amid the floods as tens of thousands of livestock have perished, leaving many in urgent need of aid.
The crisis is expected to worsen as heavier rain is on its way. Many families are in urgent need of medical aid, food, clean water, and adequate shelter.
We urgently need your help to support affected families
Islamic Relief are on the ground and working in local communities to establish how best to support affected families.
Our plans include providing cash grants to 3,000 families in 3 regions of Balochistan, which they can use as they wish to cover their most essential needs. Our teams are also working with the local government to support relief efforts.
We are focused on helping communities recover from the disaster as quickly as possible to ensure that vulnerable people do not continue to suffer the terrifying impact of the flash floods.
As the situation deteriorates, we desperately need help to respond to meet the ongoing and immediate needs of those who have been affected: Please support our emergency response. Donate to our Pakistan Floods Appeal now.
