Islamic Relief is supporting a nationwide emergency relief operation in Morocco to support families affected by devastating flooding.
Communities across the country are grappling with the aftermath of deadly floods that have killed at least 41 people, while many more remain missing.
Relief efforts come after a catastrophic flash flood struck the coastal city of Safi on Sunday. At least 70 homes were damaged by the intense rainfall and ensuing floods, which swept cars, bins and debris from the streets.
Schools across the coastal Safi province are closed as debris and mud continue to block roads.
More rainfall is expected in northern Morocco over the next 48 hours.
Islamic Relief is responding
Islamic Relief is on the scene in Safi, delivering food packs containing essential items such as flour, rice and oil. We are also providing shelter and hygiene kits to vulnerable communities affected by the disaster.
Much of our efforts are currently focused on Safi City, which has borne the brunt of the disaster so far.
Islamic Relief is helping affected communities. Donate to our Morocco Emergency Appeal to support our work.
