Over 21 months of bombardment
Since 8 October 2023, more than 4,285 people have been killed and over 7,000 injured in Lebanon. Some 23,489 homes have been destroyed and another 59,577 severely damaged, forcing countless families into uncertainty.
A sharp escalation in September 2024 triggered the displacement of over 1 million people amid a rapidly worsening humanitarian crisis. While a partial ceasefire in early 2025 allowed some families to return, nearly 85,000 people remain displaced as of July 2025. Many returned to find their homes in ruins and still lack safe shelter, clean water, and basic services.
Entire communities from border villages in southern Lebanon remain unable to return due to ongoing military activity and access restrictions. Farming families, in particular, have been severely affected—over 90% of livestock farmers are still unable to reach their land or tend to their animals, leading to critical food insecurity and economic hardship.
This latest escalation has deepened the suffering of a population already struggling under the weight of a prolonged economic crisis, leaving millions without stable incomes, healthcare, or reliable public services.
