For expat staff
Islamic Relief Worldwide recognises our staff are our biggest asset, and so we offer a range of benefits designed to support their professional development, mental and physical health, and work/life balance.
Personal learning and development opportunities
We offer a range of in-house and e-learning training programmes as part of our commitment to the professional development of all our staff, including a management development programme recognised by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
To find out more about our training, please visit the website of our training and learning division, the Humanitarian Academy for Development, where you can find an extensive range of in-house courses and workshops as well as externally accredited programmes.
Annual leave and additional leave
We offer a minimum 25 days annual leave (pro-rated for part-time and fixed-term employees) increasing by an additional day each year (up to a maximum of 5 years).
Field allowances
We understand that there will be travel and subsidence costs incurred for your assignment and will therefore provide the following benefits:
Return air tickets for you, your spouse, and child (if applicable).
Relocation allowance – A one-off payment at the start of your assignment to help you with relocation.
Accommodation – Depending on the contract type, we will provide adequate and safe accommodation in your main location of work or an allowance for accommodation in your country of posting.
Children allowance – It is important to us that your child/children get off to the best start in your country of posting, so we will pay an allowance of up to 90% for primary and secondary education for accompanied contracts.
Unaccompanied allowance – For expatriate staff on unaccompanied contracts, we will pay 10% of your annual salary as unaccompanied allowance.
Hardship allowance – Where a country has been classified as a hardship country, unaccompanied employees will receive a hardship allowance of 10% of their annual salary.
Maternity and paternity leave and pay
